Behind the imposing walls of Jesmond Old Cemetery lies a unique informal garden design that contains monuments to many of the North East's cultural, industrial and retailing icons, many of whom were philanthropists during their lifetime - come along, see their graves, hear their stories and leave inspired by their legacies.

Jesmond Old Cemetery is of an 'informal garden design', mainly grassed and lacking in footpaths. As such, it is unsuitable for wheelchair use and can be challenging for individuals who have other mobility issues. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear.
